AFTER CARE

1. Wait Before Showering

Follow your technician's instructions for when to shower. Most tans need time to develop:

  1. Rapid Tan: Wait 2–3 hours
  2. Classic Tan: Wait 6–8 hours

When showering, do a quick warm water rinse only — no soap for the first rinse.

2. Use Mild, Moisturizing Body Wash

After your first rinse and for all future showers, use a gentle, moisturizing body wash. Avoid antigens with alcohol.

  2. Cetaphil Ultra Gentle Body Wash and Face Wash
  3. OUAI Body Cleanser Dean Street Foaming Body Wash
  4. Native Sensitive Body Wash (Fragrance-Free)
  5. Method Pure Peace Body Wash

Recommended Safe Sunscreens

  2. Coola Mineral
  3. Blue Lizard Sensitive

3. Pat Dry, Don’t Rub

After showering, gently pat your skin dry with a towel. Rubbing can cause your tan to fade unevenly.

4. Moisturize Regularly

Hydrated skin helps your tan last longer. Moisturize morning and night with a tan-safe lotion. Avoid oil-based products.

Recommended Lotions:

  1. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion (Fragrance-Free)
  2. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream or Lotion
  3. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

5. Avoid Hot Baths and Long Showers

Hot water can strip away the tan. Use lukewarm water and keep showers short.

6. Skip Intensive Exercise or Sweating

Avoid heavy sweating or workouts for the first 24 hours to preserve your tan.

7. Avoid Chlorinated Pools & Hot Tubs

Chlorine can cause premature fading, especially within the first few days.

8. Touch-Up if Needed

Some areas (like hands or feet) may fade faster. Use a gradual tanning lotion or touch-up spray to maintain your glow.

9. Gentle Exfoliation Only (Later in the Week)

As your tan starts to fade, gently exfoliate to encourage even fading. Avoid harsh scrubs.
