Barrier Cream
You won’t have to lift a finger. We take care of everything — from expertly blending your tan for a flawless finish to handling the cleanup. We’ll also apply a barrier cream, a protective lotion used on dry areas.
Shimmer Setting Powder
Sticky spray tan? Never heard of her. Each spray tan is topped off with our complimentary, signature drying powder.
1. Exfoliate
Exfoliate your skin the day before your spray tan to remove dead skin cells and create a smooth surface for the tanning solution. Focus on rough areas like elbows, knees, ankles, and the tops of your feet. Avoid oil-based scrubs.
Recommended Exfoliants if needed:
- First Botany Cosmeceuticals Arabia Coffee Scrub
- OUAI Scalp and Body Scrub
- Soap and Glory Flake Away Body Scrub
2. Shave or Wax in Advance
If you plan to shave or wax, do so at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid skin irritation.
3. Hydrate the Night Before
Moisturize your entire body the night before your appointment. Hydrated skin helps the tan absorb evenly. Avoid oil-based lotions, as they can block the solution.
Recommended Lotions:
- Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion (Fragrance-Free)
- CeraVe Moisturizing Cream or Lotion
- Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
4. Clean, Product-Free Skin
Arrive with no makeup, deodorant, perfume, or lotion on your skin. These products can interfere with how the tan develops.
5. Wear Dark, Loose Clothing
Choose dark, loose-fitting clothes for your appointment to avoid rubbing or smudging the tanning solution. Avoid tight bras or underwear immediately after your tan.
6. Hair and Jewelry Prep
Take off all jewelry before your tan for an even application and tie your hair back or use a hairnet to keep it away from your face and neck during the spray tan session.
